Busting 3 Myths About Brand Loyalty

According to the Macmillan Dictionary, brand loyalty is

“the tendency of customers to keep buying the same brand of a particular product instead of trying other brands."

Typically, this refers to whether consumers will interact with your brand more than once. Your hope is to have many happy consumers who in turn become loyal supporters of your brand and ultimately retained customers.


Is brand loyalty relevant in 2023? Let’s look at these 3 myths.

 

MYTH 1: Consumers are no longer loyal to any brands. FALSE


Brand loyalty was a major theme for the Acquia-commissioned global survey, “Closing the CX Gap: Customer Experience Trends Report 2019.” They discovered that 59% of American consumers say that once they’re loyal to a brand, they’re loyal for life – bringing the US to the top of the global list for lifelong customer loyalty.


This is good news for US business owners. Developing business strategies that include mapping out the customer journey will be a key priority for success.

MYTH 2: I offer a great product so of course my customers will be loyal. FALSE


While having a great product or service is key to the success of your business, other factors also influence customer retention and loyalty.
